In this captivating game, the roman republic leader, Caesar, together with his army, soldiers, barbarian types of machinery, heroes, and siege weapons, have a task ahead to fight and defeat all the civilizations found in ancient Europe with over 120 cities you must conquer. Grow Empire Rome is all about war; brace yourself ready for it.
This android app game has over 1500 waves to play. In each wave, you have a war base where your enemies, the barbarians, attack. It worth noting that you can only play one wave at a time. After that one wave, the game is over, but you can trigger another wave if you're still in the playing mood. Also, there are enemy colonies from the empire map that you can get if you launch invasions. Each colony you acquire comes with three waves of rebels. You can then trigger them and fight these rebels if you want to; otherwise, you just let them be.

Features and benefits

There are several features of grow empire of Rome. We will discuss some of its essential elements in detail to ensure you understand all the concepts of this game. If you’re an Android user, this article will compel you to download it from the play store, so you can experience it first-hand. So keep reading to discover more about GER.

The wave defense

You basically have to trigger a wave so you can fight, as we've mentioned above already. Once it's done, you'll encounter several enemies rushing towards your wall, and they are ready for the warfighting anything and anyone on their way. The towers and rowers at the wall will also not just be standing there waiting for death, and they are ready to attack the enemies invading their range. You also have to summon your main fighting force, the army, to attack. It's indeed an exciting scene, interesting enough to turn an otherwise dull day bright again.

In each wave, two units will attack you; the siege units and war elephants, and another four you'll use to defend yourself; cavalry, ranged, infantry, and anti-cavalry infantry. You have two reinforcements charges at the start, and the best part is that you can choose any of your four defense units to defend the empire. In every ten levels within a normal wave, you'll encounter even bigger groups of enemies referred to as the mini waves. I think the number grows at each level. You will also experience elephants ready with their offensive power to fight you every 30 levels. Here you can take advantage of your defensive units. You only need to summon one unit in no particular layout to open the unit bar. All four units will appear on the bar enabling you to demand more as you fight your enemies. You also have some special powers you can use to defend your roman empire in this war; the towers and catapult.

The colony map

This is another exciting feature of GER, where your main objective is to invade different colonies and defend them against your enemies. The colonies' defense strengths increase with time. You can see it from the numbers indicated on each territory. In each attack, there are three legions, with one consisting of six defense units, your four main units, and another two extra units, siege and hero. The other two legions will probably add more heroes and types of machinery to the army. You can't really do much at this second part of the GER game as you don't have any towers and can't summon more units either.

The GER shop

One worthwhile point to note is that this game doesn't force you to purchase anything from its shop. But, if you wish, you could purchase crystals for card packs and commanders. You can also use crystals to upgrade heroes, which gives your army a passive bonus and an active frontline war. The crystals can also upgrade your bank, which will then improve the gold you acquired from the colonies.

Besides getting gold from the crystals purchased from the shop, you can also acquire it from all the killings you achieved from each wave and from the ads you watch while playing the game. Use these golds to upgrade everything to your advantage; your units, wall, towers, and archers. Other features include:

  • Over 18 skills you can unlock
  • Several buildings upgrades
  • Different roman troops, you should discover as the roman leader and unlock them
  • More than 100 European ancient cities you should conquer
  • A few types of card boosts

Conclusion

Grow Empire Rome doesn't seem challenging enough for the experienced ones. Other than a couple of soldier setups, there isn't much to see as the balance is completely off. This is based on the customers' reviews from Amazon and other trusted review pages.

However, it is a good and fun game for adults who want to kill time. Perhaps you'll be on a train for several hours, and you can't imagine spending all those hours just staring at your fellow passengers or sleeping, or it's one of those chilly weekends that you just want to stay indoors. If there's anything that would make you download and want to keep this game on your phone that is obtaining gold through passive generation. And if you're a war lover, you'll find it captivating enough to want to play it over and over again.
